This is the ultimate guide to personal injury claims and settlements with Travelers Insurance Company.
You’ll hear about car and truck accidents, and slip and fall settlements with Travelers.
You are also going to hear about my many settlements with Travelers. That includes car accident settlements, slip and fall payouts and other types of cases.
If Travelers Insurance insures someone who causes your accident, the other driver likely has bodily injury (“BI”) liability insurance. This is great because BI insurance this is the most common source of payment for pain and suffering in a car accident case.
Since most cars in Florida don’t have to have BI insurance, many other insurance companies insure cars without BI insurance.
Drivers who are insured with Travelers likely have decent BI limits. All things equal, I think that drivers insured with Travelers are more likely to have more than $10,000 in BI liability insurance.
Travelers Pays Better Than the Big 4 Car Insurers
Travelers is by no means the best paying insurer that sells Florida car or truck insurance in Florida. However, Travelers has a reputation for paying more fairly than many others.
Travelers has a reputation for more fairly paying BI claims than the big 4: State Farm, GEICO, Progressive, and Allstate.
From my experience, Travelers’ car accident insurance adjusters are more educated than claims adjusters for small auto insurance companies. This means that you’re less likely to have to repeat yourself when speaking with them.
I’ve found Travelers auto adjusters to be more customer service friendly than many other small insurance companies.
If you have a personal injury case that is worth more than the BI liability insurance or uninsured motorist (“UM”) insurance limits, Travelers will respond quickly to you.
If your case is worth less than the liability insurance limits, don’t be surprised if Travelers delays making a fair offer to settle.
How Do You Know If You Have Big Auto Accident Case Against Travelers?
Ask the Travelers claim handler if he or she is part of the Auto Liability Severity Unit. This is the Travelers division that handles the high value claims.
In terms of the value of your injury case, it’s a good sign for you if your claim is being handled by this division.
That being said, if there is limited BI liability insurance you may be struck accepting the BI limits even if you have a horrible injury or death case.
$300K Car Accident Settlement (Travelers Insurance Pays $200K)
Ryan was driving a rental car in Clearwater, Pinellas County, Florida. He was in Florida for business purposes. Another driver crashed into Ryan’s car. Above, you can see the damage to Ryan’s rental car.
Below, you can see the damage to the other driver’s car:
At the hospital, someone took a photo Ryan. Check it out:
Here is another image that focuses more on the equipment that was used to monitor his vitals:
He had a broken leg (tibial plateau). While in the hospital, Ryan searched for car accident lawyers. He found our website and decided to get a free consultation with me.Get a Free Consultation
After we spoke, he hired me. At the hospital, doctors performed surgery on his leg. In particular, they put a plate and screws into his leg.
After surgery, the doctor put a cast on his leg. When he left the hospital, he could not walk. He was wheeled out of the hospital.
Allstate was the careless driver’s bodily injury liability insurer. As you can see, they paid $100,000 to settle.
In order for Ryan to go to orthopedic visits and physical therapy, a medical transport van would come to his home.
There, someone would load him into a van while he was in a wheelchair.
Ultimately, Ryan made a good recovery. Travelers was his uninsured motorist insurer. They paid me $200,000 to settle. Here is the settlement check:
In total, the car accident injury settlement amount was $300,000.
$210K Travelers Insurance Settlement (Fall in Restaurant)
Mike (not real name) was eating at a restaurant in North Miami, Florida. When he tried to exit the booth, it tipped up in the air. This sent him to the ground.
He landed on his wrist, which he broke. He got a free consultation with me. As soon as he hired me, I made a claim with Travelers Insurance. They insured the restaurant.
He had a wrist surgery. The restaurant closed down. However, the Travelers adjuster let me inspect the restaurant. I took a video showing that the booth would tip in the air.
Travelers Insurance would not offer more than $20,000. So I sued the restaurant. Right after I sued, Travelers increased its offer to $40,000. Mike then had a second wrist surgery.
I took depositions in the case. We settled for $210,000. By the time of settlement, his wrist was doing better. As with most serious injury cases, most of the settlement was for pain and suffering.
$200K Settlement with Travelers Insurance (Truck Accident)
Here is a video of some highlights of the settlement:
A truck driver was driving a truck on the highway. A 18 wheeler crashed into the back of my client’s truck.
Travelers insured the careless driver. Here is a photo of the truck that Travelers insured:
A highway patrol came to the accident scene. My client told the officer that he didn’t have any pain. He waited a few days to go to his doctor.
Months later, he had shoulder surgery.
Travelers (and its insured) paid $200,000 to settle the personal injury case. My client had $10,000 in uninsured motorist insurance with Progressive.
Progressive paid $10,000 to settle. The total settlement amount was for $210,000.
$197,500 Travelers Insurance Settlement (Slip and Fall)
Regina lived Texas. On August 2, 2013, a guest was staying at the Marriott Courtyard hotel in Downtown Pensacola, Florida. She turned on the water in the bathtub in her hotel bathroom. She stepped into the tub, and slipped and fell.
The guest fractured her upper arm bone (humerus), and had surgery to fix it.
On August 14, 2013, Regina’s husband filled out a form on my website to Get a Free Consultation with me. He saw that we’ve settled many hotel accident cases. He also saw that we had an average 5 star review on Google Maps.
I immediately called Regina’s husband. Next, I spoke with Regina. She hired me as her slip and fall lawyer.
We claimed that the bathtub flooring was unreasonably slippery. Our bathtub expert said the bathtub flooring wasn’t slip resistant. He said the flooring was dangerous.
The surgery left her with a scar on the back of her upper arm. The photo below shows her scar.
Travelers Insurance insured the hotel. They are the same insurance company that insured the engineer who was sued in the Miami bridge collapse lawsuit.
Travelers first offer was $70,000. After negotiating this case hard, I settled her injury case with Travelers for $197,500.
On August 16, 2016, I sent Travelers Insurance Company the signed settlement release. On August 29, 2016, Travelers sent me a settlement check for $197,500 to settle the case.
Here is Travelers’ settlement check:
Travelers Insurance Pays $47K of $57K (Car Accident)
An on-duty police officer was stopped in traffic, when another car rear ended him. The crash happened in Medley, Florida (North Miami-Dade County).
The driver who caused the accident received a ticket for following too closely. State Farm insured the careless driver.
State Farm Insurance paid us the careless driver’s $10,000 BI limits.
The officer said that the wreck caused or aggravated his bulging disc.
His Doctor Gave Him Epidural Shots
He had epidural shots to his lower back.
The cop was a candidate for lower back surgery (lumbar laminectomy). He did not have surgery.
Travelers insured the police officer on his personal car. (He wasn’t using his personal car when the accident happened).
Workers compensation for the police department paid over $17,000 in indemnity (lost wages) and medical benefits.
I settled the UIM case with Travelers for $47,000. Thus, State Farm and Travelers paid a combined $57,000 for the personal injury case.

After this auto accident, he searched for a car accident lawyer. He decided to get a free consultation with me. After we spoke, he hired me and I jumped into full gear.
