Someone’s carelessness may have caused your injury. If so, you may be looking for a Florida orthopedic doctor. The victim should want a orthopedic doctor who will not kill his or her injury case.
When I use the word “accident”, I am referring to:
- car, truck, bicycle, pedestrian and motorcycle accidents
- slip or trip and falls
- accident at a business (e.g. store, supermarket, mall, hotel, etc.) or someone’s house.
- many other types of accidents
I created a map, which is below, with contact information for Florida orthopedic doctors who won’t destroy an injury case.
You may realize, after calling several doctors’ offices, that some Florida doctors will not treat you once they hear that you were involved in an accident. Many of these doctors, who will not treat you, do not want to be involved in treating someone who may end up filing a lawsuit against someone else.
These doctors do not want to have to give testimony (in deposition) to an attorney about your injuries. Some non-claimant friendly doctors will support a liability claims adjuster’s argument(s) to pay you less money in a herniated disc case. This is true even if you are covered un Personal Injury Protection (PIP) or health insurance.
An orthopedic doctor treats you for injuries to your bones or muscles.
Some injuries that an orthopedic doctor treats are:
- knee pain or fracture
- lower leg (tibia) pain or a tibia fracture
- a shoulder injury or a rotator cuff tear. A map of shoulder doctors in Florida is here.
- an ankle fracture or injury
- a fractured femur or upper leg injury
- neck, back pain or a herniated disc or compression fracture
- hand or wrist fracture or injury
Hip fracture
One Miami orthopedic doctor who operates on hips and takes Medicaid is Dr. Fernando Villela Hernandez. He is at the University of Miami Medical Group.
If you are injured in a car accident or other type of accident in Florida, you may want to treat with an orthopedic doctor. A neurologist can treat your neck and back pain as well. If you were injured in a car accident in Florida, give your car and health insurance to the orthopedic doctor with whom you treat.
Some orthopedic doctors are unwilling to prescribe pain medication after the patient has completed their course of treatment (maximum medical improvement). For example, I represented a client who fractured her hip from a trip and fall at a Miami Beach, Florida apartment complex.
She had surgery to repair her hip, but after a certain amount of treatment the orthopedic doctor was unwilling to prescribe her pain medication.
The orthopedic doctor said that she would need to see a pain management doctor to treat her chronic pain. You can find a Florida pain management doctor who will treat injured accident victims and not kill their case.
I have not created a map of chiropractors in Florida because their testimony is much weaker than an orthopedic doctor or neurologist’s testimony is regards to injuries.
