How to Make a Complaint Against an Insurance Company (2020)
How do you make a complaint against an insurance company? Here, I am going to answer this question and much more. You’ll hear about my many experiences with the Florida Department of Insurance.
As a lawyer with over $8 million in personal injury settlements, I’ve dealt with about 50 different insurance companies. Additionally, I’ve communicated with over 1,000 claim adjusters. This includes auto insurance adjusters, general liability insurers (for accidents at hotels, restaurants, malls and more), long term disability insurers, health insurance companies, and more.
Many insurance companies are responsive. However, most still make low settlement offers. A few insurers are fair.
Unfortunately, many insurance companies are not reasonable. In addition, personal injury cases don’t settle overnight. The last thing you want is an additional delay by the insurance company.
If an insurance company is not giving you the time of day, you can file a consumer complaint. It is also known as a “request for insurance assistance.” I have had to file my fair share of consumer complaints with the department of financial regulation.

Many factors affect a personal injury case. COVID-19 is another example that shows that no case is ever a guaranteed victory. The Coronavirus is one factor that is having a big effect on many personal injury claims and settlements. Here, you will see which accident cases the Coronavirus is affecting the most.
You’ll also learn how to fight back so that your case is not wiped out. I decided to write an article about this after someone asked a question in the comments section of one of my Youtube videos.

How much is scar worth in a personal injury case?
I answer this question in this article. I’ll share some of my settlements (with amounts) for scar cases. You’ll see photos of the actual scar. This will help you get a better idea of what it looked like.
You’ll get to learn how the scar specifically affected the settlement amount.
I won’t stop there.
As an added bonus, I’ll also share some settlements where the injury was discolored skin.
Yes, if someone was careless and caused your scar. This means that aren’t entitled to a penny for pain and suffering if you were 100% at fault for causing the accident.
Some states have car accident laws that require the scar to meet certain requirements in order for you to get money for pain and suffering. For example, in Florida, in many car accident cases, you need a permanent and significant scar in order to get compensation for pain and suffering associated with it. However, that law does not apply in every car accident case. A car accident lawyer knows the standard that you’ll need to meet to get a payout for scar.
But don’t be to worried about that standard. Car insurance companies may still offer compensation for pain and suffering even for small scar. In a moment, you’ll see this from my settlements below.
If you have a bad scar, it is worth more than if the scar is small.
Is there a calculator that can tell you how much compensation you’ll get for a scar?
No. Sure there are personal injury settlement calculators on the internet. Believe it or not, I just linked to one that I created.
However, there is not a calculator that can tell you how much a scar is worth. The reason is that a scars are very different. A scar could be very small (and thin), or it could be big and wide.
People put a significance on scars because scars tell us a story. Generally speaking, scars on a woman are worth more than on a man. This is because scars on a man can be associated with being tough. Some men consider it an honor to have a scar.

If you are transported by ambulance to the hospital following an accident, it increases the full value of your personal injury claim.
But don’t take my word for it.
Just look at my biggest personal injury settlements. In the 7 out of my top 10 settlements, the injured person took an ambulance to the hospital. In one case, I got a $300,000 settlement for a broken leg from a car accident. My client took an ambulance to the hospital. That is one of my many settlements for people who were hurt in Florida while visiting from another state.
However, I’ve also had some great results even though the injured person did not take an ambulance to the hospital.
Remember:
So how much does taking an ambulance affect the settlement?
