Should you go to a doctor after an accident?
Go to the Emergency Room if:
You should go to the emergency room if you have a deformity or bone sticking out of your arm or wrist. This is particularly true if you have other injuries or bleeding.
Go to the doctor immediately:
- You have a new injury to your arm, especially if you heard a crack or pop
- Difficulty moving your arm or rotating your arm
- Major swelling or pain in your arm
Make an office appointment if you have:
- Brachial plexus issues
- Arm pain that won’t go away after a few days
- Swelling or pain in the part of the arm that you hurt
Case value goes down if you wait to get treatment
Each day that you wait to get medical care for your arm injury, your case value drops. The insurance company claim representative will argue that your pain wasn’t bad if you waited to get treatment.

Take pictures or your arm injury
Immediately take photos of your arm injury. This includes photos of any bruising or bleeding.
